About Topical

Topical is a meeting software solution that helps chairmen and note-takers run meetings in a structured way, ensuring proper documentation and automatic follow-up on decisions and action points. Additionally, Topical integrates various AI functionalities. Note-taking becomes a thing of the past with our transcription feature, meeting summaries are generated automatically, and AI compiles action and decision lists. This saves time and significantly boosts team productivity.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a medior Laravel/React Developer who can work independently and contribute ideas to further improve our software. Currently, the CTO role is held by our senior & lead developer, Rik van de Looi, but we are open to discussing whether you could potentially take on this role in the future.

Must-haves:

• Proficiency in Dutch.
• Strong understanding of PHP, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and MVC.
• Experience with SQL (MySQL), HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Ability to work agile and solve problems independently..

Should-haves:

• Experience with Laravel and/or ReactJS
• Experience with GIT (or other version control systems).
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and how to integrate them.
• Experience with database design, application architecture, and design patterns.
• Familiarity with dependency management (Composer/Yarn).
• Ability to translate customer needs into functional features.
• Understanding of commercial and business processes.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with JIRA, Docker, Visual Studio Code, Cursor.

The Tech Stack

Our backend is built with PHP Laravel, and the frontend is developed in ReactJS. While experience with these technologies is a plus, we also welcome eager-to-learn candidates without prior experience.

Additionally, we follow Material Design principles and use the Material UI toolkit for our interface.

The Team

You will be part of a young, dynamic team of 15 people, where an informal work atmosphere and collaboration are key. Our office is conveniently located near Tilburg University Station, making it easily accessible by public transport. We regularly organize fun team activities and value a healthy work-life balance.

Currently, three other developers work on Topical: Sven, Rik, and Joseph (remote). You will also collaborate with Topical’s founder, Dion Duimel, who primarily focuses on sales and implementation but is also technically skilled.
